Synergy
104 E. FIFTH AVENUE
KNOXVILLE, TN 37917
Synergy is a Knoxville retail and residential two story space designed for Kerby Jean-Raymond and his fashion brand Pyer Moss. This space is designed to incorporate his personality and style.
The concept of Synergy focuses on the various ways that the Pyer Moss brand showcases itself during runway shows through its vibrant outfit collections, videos being projected and choir singing. These elements harmoniously come together to promote the values of the collections.
In this space, Synergy focuses on how different materials and elements combine together to build upon each other and form something more spectacular as a whole than could have been achieved individually. The use of three main plane materials: Glass, Steel and Wood, grow from each other in the retail and residential space. They are infused in the architecture as display spaces, floor heights and ceiling drops.
E. FIFTH AVENUE
Based on runway collections from Pyer Moss, outfits were analyzed and noted for their boldly defined lines (see below, see common colors used through collections).
A concept model was created (see right) to visualize how "Synergy" is seen in the works of Pyer Moss through their runway shows and creative work. This model inspired the interior.
To represent a new footwear design by Pyer Moss, a projection system was conceptualized.
This acts as a feature and photographical moment in the store where new releases are displayed.
Here the shoe can be exploded to visualize the individual parts of the shoe.
